We are excited to welcome Dr. Jim Austin and his wife Debbie as our new interim Pastor. Dr. Jim Austin has served seven churches as an Interim/Transitional Pastor with the last one being First Baptist Church in Oakwood, GA. Formerly, he pastored Morganton (Ga.) Baptist Church, Blackshear Place Baptist Church in Gainesville, Ga., and First Baptist Church, Roanoke, Va. Dr. Jim Austin followed God’s call to serve as the Executive Director-Treasurer of the South Carolina Baptist Convention from 2007-2014. Austin graduated from Jacksonville State University in Alabama, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, California. He received an honorary doctorate from Emmanuel Bible College and Seminary in Kota, India.
Rev. Matthew T. Williams
Associate Pastor of Students and Church Administrator
Matt Williams is a native of Oakwood, Georgia. He is a graduate of West Hall, North Georgia College & State University, and currently attending New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Matt was ordained into the ministry in 2015 after serving Georgia Baptist as a state missionary for nine years in Employee Services. Matt is a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Matt and his wife, Casey, have 3 daughters, and a son.
Rev. Corbin Smith
Discipleship Pastor
Corbin Smith is a native of Gainesville, Georgia. He is a graduate of Chestatee High School, North Georgia University, and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Currently Corbin is pursuing a PHD in Biblical Philosophy. Corbin was ordained into the gospel ministry in 2019 at Northlake.
Rev. Derek Moore
Minister of Music
Derek Moore is a native of Gainesville, GA. He is a graduate of North Hall High School, North Georgia College, and University of Georgia. Derek has been serving as Music Minister in several churches since 1991. He was ordained into the ministry in 2010 while serving as a Music Minister in the area. Derek has been serving as Bi-Vocational Music Minister at Northlake since 2017. Derek and his wife, Amy, have two children, a daughter and a son.
Mindy Henderson
Children’s Ministry Coordinator/Director
Mindy is a native of Lilburn, GA. She is a graduate of Killian Hill Christian School and The University of North Georgia with degrees in Physical Education and Recreation. She started working in church children's ministries as a teen and has been actively involved in all of Northlakes's children's activities and programs over the past 8 years. She and her husband, Bud, have 2 daughters.
